Jack is 8 month (and 1 day)!!

I just have to start out by saying Jack is seriously hilarious- and he knows it.  He cracks me up all day!  The other night, I was winking at him and he winked back twice!  Hahaha I wish I got it on camera. What a guy!

Here's his 8 month stats:                                         Here's his birthday stats:
Weight- 22.5 lbs                                                          Weight- 9lbs 1 oz
Length- 28 1/4 inches                                               Length- 20.5 inches
Head Circumference- 18 1/2 inches                   Head Circumference- 14 inches

Jack is crawling like a boss.  He's so fast!  He is a really tough little guy.  In the last week, he pulls himself up to his knees while holding onto things any chance he gets, he's even gotten to his feet a few times!  I wasn't giving him Cheerios fast enough so he decided he'd just help himself.  Speaking of Cheerios, this kid loves finger foods.  His favorites are cut up avocado, peaches/nectarines, cheerios, banana, etc.  He eats real food so much better than baby food, I don't blame him.  He also loves making bubbles with his mouth, talking, playing with friends, and laughing.  He loves being around people, especially kids- he observes and tries to copy!  Jack loves jumping, going to the gym with Mama, and playing in the mirror.

Jack still ADORES the water.  I think we might have a little swimmer on our hands!

Doesn't he just melt your heart?

Jack still loves books, so we read to him quite a bit.  (Thanks, Tanya for all the awesome books!)

He's been waking up happy for the last month or two, totally melts my heart!

Things Jack doesn't so much love:

Cutting teeth (he has 3 now)
Shoes...

It took 15 dang minutes to put these puppies on and he pulled them off in a matter of seconds!
This is the face he gave me after he pulled his shoes off.  Who knows?

Like I said earlier, Jack loves making faces- if anybody scrunches up their face at him, he'll do it right back.  (See above...).

Jack and I fly home to Washington on Thursday and we are so excited to see all the family.  Not at all excited for the loooonnnnnnngggggg flight with just the two of us.  Sad Dan can't come, darn school!  More of our trip later!

Jack is such an awesome boy and makes us more happy than we have ever been.  Every time he looks at me I get butterflies because I love him so much.  I can't imagine life without him.  What a blessing he is!

Have I mentioned how much I love my jumping Jack-a-lope?

I think Jack is pretty darn awesome.  Here's some recent pics:

Jack is seven months! Wait... seriously??

I seriously had absolutely no idea that time could go by so fast.  It's insane.  I love being a Mama to Jack!  He is da bomb.  Seriously.

Here's his 7 month stats:                                         Here's his birthday stats:
Weight- 22lbs                                                               Weight- 9lbs 1 oz
Length- 28 inches                                                       Length- 20.5 inches
Head Circumference- 18 1/2 inches                  Head Circumference- 14 inches

We've had a rough week to say the least.  Our poor guy has been sick with roseola for an entire week, but is way way better today, thanks goodness.  It's scarey when kids, especially babies, are sick.  The only communication they can give really, is crying and whining.  It's exhausting for everyone!

This month's favorites:
*Jack started army crawling!  Its hilarious.  I can't believe he's already mobile.
*Babbles all day long.  His favorite things to say, "Blah brah brah", "Ma ma ma", "Da da da da"
*Sitting up for a while on his own, unsupported!
*SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!  I never thought we'd see the day, but it's finally here!!
*Dancing!  One of his favorites :)
*Anything outside
*Reading books
*Walks/runs
*Chewing on things with his new chompers
*Fake coughing

Sad, huh?

Pretty much all healthy again!

Adventure to Chicago

As mentioned in the last post, Dan has been so very consumed with studying for the first part of his boards (by the way, I'm absolutely not complaining, just explaining). With that said, Jack and I didn't see much of him, except at dinner.  Dan comes home last Wednesday for to eat some grub and says to me, "Hey, I have an idea.  Because I can't spend much time hanging out this weekend, why don't you and Jack drive up to see Bekah!".  I was like, "Yeah!  Why don't we!"  So, we did.  And it was so very very awesome.  I love Bekah and her sweet family.  Seriously, awesome people, awesome kids.
We took off on Thursday at 5:45am (I LOVE last minute trips, they're the best) and ventured off for the expected 6 hr 15min drive.  Well, that drive turned into an 8 and a half hour drive.  In the very hot heat.  With a screaming Jack.  There was a terrible wreck (my prayers go out to the people affected by it) and we were stopped for about an hour and a half.  I never thought we'd get there.  But we did!  Horray!  It was so great to see them.  It was definitely a quick trip and I wished we could have stayed longer, but it was totally worth every minute of the drive out.  It makes me so excited to (hopefully) live closer to my family.
For the record, the drive home went great.  Jack is a champ.
Here's some pictures from our adventure:

Annie Bananie

Annie was hilarious with Jack.  She kept saying, "Awww cute!"  Jack kept smiling huge.  It was so cute!

I swear, Jack and Peter have this sweet little connection

Lately Happenings!

We've been busy busy bee's lately!  I suppose Dan's birthday is a good place to start:

My husband is hot.
Dan took the first part of his boards on Monday morning, which meant he had to devote his time to studying (poor guy).  We started the day going to a few garage sales.  Dan hit a gold mine- he got probably around 50 golf balls for free!  He had to hit the books for the day then finally got to take some time off from studying and we went out to dinna! Pretty low key, but I'd say he had a good day :)

Next is Father's Day.  Again, because of boards, another low key day, BUT I managed to surprise him with this:

A hidden talent of mine :)

Dan won't find out for 3 weeks or so how he did on his test, but I bet ya he did great.  He's one smart dude.  He works so hard to learn everything.  I'm so thankful for everything he does!  What.  A.  Stud.  Now we're enjoying a week off of school without a test hanging over his head.  Its awesome.
Ol' Jack started swimming on the floor today.  Its so so cute, but to be honest, it kind of makes me sad.  He's growing up so fast!  If you put a toy just out of reach, he gets there!  He's figuring out how to make different sounds with his mouth, loves of "L" sounds and bubbles.  It melts my heart.  Speaking of mouth, Jack sprouted 2 teeth on Dan's birthday!
And now, here's some pics:

6 months old!

Well, this is no news, but our Jacko is HUGE!  He hasn't grown in length for a while now, but his head keeps getting bigger and he keeps getting fatter (I mean more solid).

Here's his 6 month stats:                                         Here's his birthday stats:
Weight- 21lbs                                                               Weight- 9lbs 1 oz
Length- 27 inches                                                       Length- 20.5 inches
Head Circumference- 17 3/4 inches                  Head Circumference- 14 inches

For Jack's 6 month birthday, we decided to give him a quarter of a watermelon.  I have to say, it was adorable.  He didn't know how he felt about it at first, but within a few minutes, Jack was grunting and excited about it!

Jack is awesome.  His personality is really starting to beam more and more each day.  Things he loves:  food (obviously), talking,  rolling everywhere like a champ, reading books with Mama, going on walks, listening to music, playing with his toys, and being outside (loves loves it!!).  Things he's not so keen on:  sleeping.  Jack has slept through the night a total of 3 times now, one of them being last Sunday night.  The.  Best.  Nights.  Ever.  We're getting him down to once a night feedings at about 5am.  He's getting there, but it seems like it's forever away.  Jack has 4 teeth that are so close to coming in, especially his bottom left.  He's also sitting up by himself for a few minutes at a time.  I seriously can't believe how big he's getting.  It's insane.  Another fun "Jack fact":  I think he is starting to recognize his name- call me crazy, but it's true.  And one more:  Jack will reach for his bottle and hold it himself!  He rarely eats from a bottle, maybe once a week max, so I'm not sure where he learned it, but it's cute!  We love Jack Jack!!
