6 months old!

Well, this is no news, but our Jacko is HUGE!  He hasn't grown in length for a while now, but his head keeps getting bigger and he keeps getting fatter (I mean more solid).

Here's his 6 month stats:                                         Here's his birthday stats:
Weight- 21lbs                                                               Weight- 9lbs 1 oz
Length- 27 inches                                                       Length- 20.5 inches
Head Circumference- 17 3/4 inches                  Head Circumference- 14 inches

For Jack's 6 month birthday, we decided to give him a quarter of a watermelon.  I have to say, it was adorable.  He didn't know how he felt about it at first, but within a few minutes, Jack was grunting and excited about it!

Jack is awesome.  His personality is really starting to beam more and more each day.  Things he loves:  food (obviously), talking,  rolling everywhere like a champ, reading books with Mama, going on walks, listening to music, playing with his toys, and being outside (loves loves it!!).  Things he's not so keen on:  sleeping.  Jack has slept through the night a total of 3 times now, one of them being last Sunday night.  The.  Best.  Nights.  Ever.  We're getting him down to once a night feedings at about 5am.  He's getting there, but it seems like it's forever away.  Jack has 4 teeth that are so close to coming in, especially his bottom left.  He's also sitting up by himself for a few minutes at a time.  I seriously can't believe how big he's getting.  It's insane.  Another fun "Jack fact":  I think he is starting to recognize his name- call me crazy, but it's true.  And one more:  Jack will reach for his bottle and hold it himself!  He rarely eats from a bottle, maybe once a week max, so I'm not sure where he learned it, but it's cute!  We love Jack Jack!!

He's not so little anymore...

Thanks for the pic Kim Potterf

As you can see, Jack is now HUGE.  He is so fun and I am so glad to be his Mama.  This last weekend was Central East CrossFit Games Regionals (more info here).  Needless to say, it was a very busy weekend, but a lot of fun.  Our region was broadcasted on ESPN3 because we have some big dogs here, so it was even more fun because everyone was so hyped up.  I tell ya, if you want to see the best of the best athletes in the world, watch The CrossFit Games this July 13-15th (it'll be broadcasted on ESPN).  I judged Friday and all day Saturday and it was awesome to learn from these athletes.  I brought Jack with me on Friday and he loved it!  I can't wait 'till he "works out" with me.  Seriously.  So.  Fun.

Jack is 5 months old!

Yesterday was Jack's 5 month birthday- totally crazy it's already been 5 months.  He's getting bigger and bigger (funny how that happens, huh?) and his personality is starting to show more every day.  He's a total cheeser, its so cute to watch him smile, laugh, and talk all day.  He is always rolling around and digging his heels into the ground to scoot along.  He started a few new "tricks" in the last week:  if you open and close your mouth (like you're saying Mamma), he'll copy!  I have to say its one of the cutest things I've ever seen.  His other "trick" is grabbing anything, especially blankets or burp cloths and chewing on them (would you call that a trick?).  Jack also loves bath time.  He's getting so good at splashing, he'll soak Dan and I when we're bathing him.  It's so funny!
Jack is still teething, but nothing has popped through yet, poor guy.  Poor everyone in our house really- no one is getting to sleep through the night.  I can't remember what its like to sleep though the night actually!  He usually wakes up around 2am and 6am, but then there's last night were we were up at least a handful of times.  Good thing he's so good at melting hearts!
I LOVE my little guy so so much, its crazy.  I always knew I would love my kids, but I seriously didn't know it was possible to love him this much.  What a guy!

Here's his 5 month stats:                                         Here's his birthday stats:
Weight- 19lbs                                                               Weight- 9lbs 1 oz
Length- 27 inches                                                       Length- 20.5 inches
Head Circumference- 17.5 inches                       Head Circumference- 14 inches

Dan and I are doing great.  Dan is so busy with this crazy quarter, but doing awesome.  He's so smart and works so hard.  I'm so proud of him.  He'll be in clinic working on actual patients next quarter, so that will be fun!  I'm staying really busy with Jack and having a lot of fun doing so.  I'm also staying really busy working out.  I have a few ribs out of place from pregnancy, so that put a damper on the CrossFit competition in a few weeks which was a huge bummer to find out, but I'm getting better slowly.  I'll be a judge at the competition, so that's better than nothing!  Here's a bunch of pictures of Jack from the last few weeks!

He was obviously done taking pictures

Rice Cereal

Hey look what I can do!  I ate rice cereal today for the first time.  Yum!
Jack was smacking his lips and going crazy for this stuff.  He was hilarious!

Jack went and got his 4 month shots yesterday :(  When I was 14, it was my decision to put my best buddy and dog, Barkley, to sleep.  That was hands down the hardest thing I've had to do in my life.  Next to that, however, would be letting the nurses give Jack his shots.  It makes me sick to hear him scream like that, but I know it'll help him.  In better news, Jack is 85th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height and head circumference.  I love my big boy!

4 Months Old!

Jack is 4 months old today, I can hardly believe it. He's growing so fast and is getting more and more fun every day.  He has slept through the night twice so far, and those have been the most restful nights ever!  99.9% of the time I'm waking up about once a night with him, so its not that bad.  Jack has been such a joy in our lives!  He loves playing with his toys and is still totally enthralled with his hands.  You can see the wheels in his head constantly turning.  He is really good at purposely grasping at things and loves kicking everything- if he can feel something with his feet, he will kick it until it's gone.  He will have conversations with his Mamma (neither one of us know what we're saying) and even laughs now!  When we're outside he loves looking up at the trees and everything around him.  So fun to watch him!  Jack rolled over from his tummy to his back 3 times in a row a few weeks ago while I was Skyping with Hannah but we can't get him to do it anymore!  He is, however, extremely close to rolling over from his back to his tummy- he just has to move his arm!

Here's his 4 month stats:                                         Here's his birthday stats:
Weight- 17lbs                                                               Weight- 9lbs 1 oz
Length- 27 inches                                                        Length- 20.5 inches
Head Circumference- 17 inches                           Head Circumference- 14 inches

And here's some pictures!  (fair warning, there's a ton of pics!)

I adore my little family :)

Hahaha Jack took out his binky and put it on his face

This is as far as he'll roll over for now!

What? Jack's Already 3 Months Old??

Another month has already come and gone.  Time flies!  Jack is so great, we love him so much.  Jack loves laying on the ground and kicking.  He loves chewing on his hands, cooing, and smiling.  He laughed for the first time 02/25/12- so so hilarious (I'll try and post a video of it).  He is so close to rolling over- darn those chubby arms for getting in the way!  Ha!  He's absolutely fascinated with his hands, and realized his feet are pretty cool too this morning during a diaper change. Jack has slept for a few 7 hour stretches at night, but average time is between 4 and 5 hours.  I still find myself just staring at him, he's so perfect.  Dan and I are seriously so blessed to have Heavenly Father entrust Jack's life in our hands.
Funny story:  We went to Steak and Shake (a restaurant) and the hostess asked if we wanted a high chair.  We were like, "Uhhhh, suuure" thinking we'd just put his car seat on top of it.  Then she said, "And did you want a kid's menu?" hahahahaha Jack will just take a medium rare steak please...
